Maxwell stresses the importance of mapping your goals. And he means not only to define them but most importantly to be as specific as you can (i.e. I want to save vs. I want to save 1k every week). The point? The more defined our goals are, the less we get sidetracked not to mention much easier to focus on what we really want to achieve.

And so ten-ten-ten, here are my goals for 2012:

1.) FITNESS.

 - This year will all be about getting fit. I wish to drop my weight to 105lbs and sustain it at that. Moreover, when I say fitness, I really mean getting lean and losing all the fats that’s why it’s not only important to watch what I eat but also to engage in physical activities. I thought about enrolling in a gym but I know how busy I get and that I’d end up wasting money paying for it. So I’ll settle on running. It’s the most practical as I already invested on running equipment last year and I live near a place with lots of “running-friendly areas”. It’s only a matter of getting in the routine. Aja!

2.) Skin Care.

- It will just be another  3 to 4 years before I’m officially in my late twenties. And I don’t want to only start caring for my skin when the age marks already started appearing on my face. As I’m not blessed with good skin, the more reason I should be doing this now. And by  skincare, I mean to apply toner and moisturizer everyday for my face and lotion for my body. To try as much not to wear make-up and protect my skin from everything that is harmful to it.

3.) Quit the habit.

- I don’t want to elaborate as I have lots of friends who still don’t  know I started doing this and that they will surely be disappointed to know that I jumped on the bandwagon. However, I’m proud to say it was a short affair that lasted for only 7 months. I have nothing against the act. But I just don’t think I need to be doing it. I’m doing cold turkey on this and it was a  successful day one!

4.) $$$$$

- The always present item in my resolutions every freakin year. This time, I should really START SAVING. I spent a lot in 2011 and even spent what little I have saved. :( Reorrr. So this 2012, I will save a quarter of my salary every month with not buts and exceptions. I’ll also keep in mind that the only time it’s ok to use my savings is when I want to start a business.

5.) Challenge the comfort zones.

- As a quote said, we cannot be the person we want to become if we don’t change the person that we are. I did a lot of growing up the past years and I am genuinely happy about who I’ve become. But there are still so many things! So many things I think I can do and areas I can improve on. And instead of listing each of them down (as I’m not even fully aware about many of them) - This 2012, I’ll engage myself in the “challenge your comfort zone” thinking. This means that everything I’m comfortable with will be challenged to change or improve this year.  To try to do the things I perceive difficult and to keep away from ”I am too old or too young for this” mentality. (I’ll elaborate more on this on my next post which will be about my now SHORT hair. GASP.)

Unlike the rest of the world - I will not say that 2012 will be an awesome year for me. Instead, I tell and promise each one of you that I mean to make the most of what it’ll be offering me - to the best of my ability!

Cheers to a new year - here’s to another opportunity to change, to grow, and to let out the rebels in us! :)
